Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow

2003 - 2008

In the years following 2001, I used a low resolution cell phone camera to re-photograph images of men from the front pages of newspapers, marking the last days of dominance of the printed daily, while memorizing deaths and political contrivances that comprised the 'war on terror'.
I photographed animals in captivity, in the wild, and stuffed in museums.
I photographed children and recorded the weather.

The resulting installation of large format digital prints formed a composite portrait of the people who run the state and the ominous future in store for us all. Photos from Miyako Yoshinaga gallery.
